Engineering & Spec

We produce a complete equipment specification and wiring plan before a single cable is pulled. You know exactly what you're getting and what it costs.

Installation

Projector mounted, speakers positioned and wired in-wall, equipment rack built, acoustic panels placed. Clean, professional, built to last.

Calibration & Handoff

Video calibrated to ISF standards, audio calibrated by ear and measurement. We program the control system and walk you through operation before we leave.

Home Theater FAQs

Questions we hear every week from Long Island homeowners interested in building a home theater.

What's the difference between a dedicated home theater and a media room?

A dedicated home theater is a light-controlled room designed exclusively for video and audio performance — typically with a projector, acoustically transparent screen, tiered seating, and acoustic treatment. A media room is a multi-purpose living space with a high-quality flat panel and speaker system. Both can be excellent; the right choice depends on your space and how you use it.

How big does the room need to be for a projector?

A projector and screen work well in rooms as small as 12'×16'. The key factors are throw distance (how far the projector sits from the screen), ceiling height for mounting, and light control. We assess your specific room and tell you what screen size is achievable and what it will look like.

Do you handle acoustic treatment?

Yes. Acoustic panels, bass traps, and ceiling clouds are part of a complete theater installation. We assess first-reflection points, modal issues, and reverb time based on your room's dimensions and construction, then specify treatment that's both effective and aesthetically appropriate.

Can you integrate the theater with our existing smart home system?

Yes. We integrate with Control4, Lutron, Savant, and other platforms. A theater scene might dim the lights, lower motorized shades, power up the system, and select your streaming input — all from one button. If you don't have a smart home system, we can add one.

How long does a home theater installation take?

A media room installation typically takes 1–2 days. A full dedicated home theater — including projector, screen, in-wall speakers, rack, and acoustic treatment — generally takes 3–5 days depending on scope and any custom construction work.

Do I need to rewire my whole house for a home theater?

No. Wiring typically runs only within the theater room and down to a nearby equipment room or rack location. We core through walls and ceilings cleanly, seal penetrations, and patch surfaces. The scope of wiring depends on your room layout and what's already in the walls.
